Paul is a dispute resolution and civil litigation specialist. Whilst fully prepared to take matters through to Court proceedings, where possible, he prefers to settle through negotiation and mediation (a much cheaper option for you, in the main).

Paul has over 25 years' experience and has helped people resolve a wide range of disputes, including contract disputes, insolvency proceedings, financial abuse matters, partnership disputes, construction claims, and probate disputes.

Julia Nicholls

Head of Practice

Julia is Head of Practice at Nicholls Law. She also advises on property-related litigation, conveyancing, and data protection.

Julia came to the firm from an educational background, where she taught ICT for 10 years. She now also delivers training, both within the firm and to clients, for example, on data protection.

The firm has a saying: "If you want something doing, ask Julia".

Beverley Willis

Chartered Legal Executive

Beverley specialises in Will preparation, probate and estate administration, and also powers of attorney and Court of Protection (deputyship) applications.

Initially working for a local financial institution, Beverley went on to study law, qualifying as a Chartered Legal Executive, and has been with the firm since early 2017 having practised law since 2003.

Noel Carroll

Senior Consulting Solicitor

Admitted as a solicitor in 2010, Noel handles mainly private client matters, specialising in Wills, trusts, probate and estate administration. Additionally, Noel has gained vast experience in drafting Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters and also advises on care costs and inheritance tax.

He has established cross-border relationships in Ireland, Australia and the U.S., giving security to clients with matters in multiple-jurisdictions.

Mick Jameison

Lead Investigator

Mick has over 30 years of experience as an investigator, having handled organised crime, corruption and cybercrime matters, particularly during his time with the Metropolitan Police, NCS, SOCA and NCA.

He is a cyber-crime expert, trained in digital forensics and advises and investigates on these matters for Nicholls Law.

Julie Blackwell-West LL.B (Hons)

Consultant Solicitor

Julie has over 30 years' legal experience including 10 years running her own successful personal injury practice. Julie is primarily focusing on preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney as well as drafting Wills. However, Julie will also undertake probate and contentious probate matters as she has a strong background in litigation.

Bettinna Brueggemann

Consultant Solicitor (non-practicing)

Bettina has over 30 years' experience including 13 years as managing partner of a law firm. Primarily, Bettina will be focusing on drafting Wills and preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney. However, Bettina has a strong background in commercial and contract law as well as litigation, so will also take on matters in these fields, as well as probate.
